Gorgeous theater. Amazing shows. Fantastic staff.
I regrettably take off 2 stars for the sheer discomfort of the seating. I am 5'9" and my mother-in-law is barely 5'2". We sat in the upper level balcony seats, which were quite the hike to get to. I didn't mind that so much (though I wouldn't recommend getting these seats for any elderly or handicapped guests as the steep stairways are the only option), but there is absolutely no leg room whatsoever. Even my little 100lb mother-in-law was quite cramped. For such a beautiful theater, I sure hope the comfort of the seating is comparative to the price of your ticket (ours was the least expensive option). I would hate to pay triple to be closer and just as uncomfortable. It really distracted me from the wonderful performance.
NSU GALA was spectacular !! Now that was a Christmas Gala show ! So much talent on stage. And the musician's playing the music were awesome !! I will definitely see this again !
As a shining gem of the Shreveport area the Strand Theatre offers great cultural enrichment opportunities. From acrobats to ballet this establishment never disappoints me. This is building was brought into existence in the early 1920's and as a consequence leg room is quite limited so take this into account when you come (do not expect hassle free egress to the facilities). Despite the size limitations the theatre is beautifully adorned with chandeliers and murals that dazzle the eye, and the acoustics of the building ensure that everybody can appreciate the sounds offered from the stage.
We didn't know this place existed. The theatre was amazing. A must see historical landmark.
