There are many many wonderful folks providing care here; however, the hospital needs to conduct a serious policy review. For example: pre-op assessments, recovery, and availability of rooms. It's horrible that patients/family are kept apart because their not set up to handle the number of procedures they provide in a day or patients staying in recovery longer than is reasonable because they have a lack of available rooms.
My wife injured her head that required stitches. Entered the ER at Pierremont at approximately 11am. It is now approximately 4pm and still no stitches. This is ridiculous and uncalled for. At approximately 3pm a nurse entered the room with the needed materials to do the stitches but left saying he was getting help and would be right back. An hour has passed and no nurse or stitches. Unreal!!!!
Better than University Health, not as good as Christus Highland. You can't get a wheelchair until after you've been admitted or triaged. Security is sloooow to respond to anything.
This past weekend we were in Shreveport shopping and eating dinner. We had an accident during dinner. My 8 year old autistic son fell out of his chair and hit his head on a ledge at the bottom of the wall. Blood went everywhere and we were all a little freaked out. We took him to the ER to get looked at and for our first traumatic(to us) experience, being at this ER, made it a wonderful one. Spencer, one of the nurses, came out and spent almost 20 min talking to Ryder and making the transition from car to room easy. The entire staff went over and above for us. The Dr. on that night was wonderful and made me very comfortable in an uncomfortable situation. I cant thank them enough for their patience and genuine care for my child. I would recommend this ER to any and everyone. Thank you guys from the bottom of my heart for treating us and caring for Ryder the way yall did. He is in the process of writing you guys a thank you letter so be on the lookout!
They took great care of us in the labor and delivery and in the nursery. I couldn't be happier with the nursing staff and the doctors are excellent!
