My 13 yr old son was there. After reading all of these negative reviews I was so scared leaving him. Don't go with what surveys say because people are quick to point out negative and the ones who did have good experiences don't think about writing a review because they are at peace. My son came back a different person. The staff were amazing and always answered my questions thoroughly. I recommend this place to anyone. Good luck with all of your roads to recovery, this is the best place to start.

Out-patient (PHP) seems to be a better program than the in-patient program at Brentwood due to staff and counseling sessions. There are no individual counseling sessions to concentrate on a patient's individual needs while they are in-patient. The group counseling is not consistent or beneficial. The staff dealing daily with patients lack training, care and concern for patients. They seem to see it as a babysitting job. Nobody seems to hold staff accountable for the way they treat patients. In-patient Staff does not keep up with the patient's belongings that are brought in by patient or their family. Staff has to check bags that are brought in before patient is allowed to have clothing items. Any belongings/clothing, etc. that is not given to patient or allowed is put in storage closets until discharge. My son was there a week after Christmas and the staff managed to "lose" a new shirt (Christmas gift) and a baseball cap that my son has had for years (sentimental value) that were in the same bag with pajama/lounge type pants. My son got the pants on discharge but nobody seems to know what happened to his shirt or baseball cap. They just magically disappeared. They claim they have looked in all the storage closets. My son says other patients talked about their money being taken and not returned (stolen) and some valuables like electronics were broken by staff mishandling it, due to lack of concern. Patient advocate says they do not know what happened to my son's shirt or baseball cap. She also said they could not find any camera footage to show what happened to it. Really?? Staff is not too concerned about son's missing items. It is ridiculous that staff on floors with patient's are not trained or monitored and held accountable for a patient's personal belongings. I will be speaking with someone else at this hospital. This is absolutely absurd and unacceptable. If my son needs assistance in the future, we will seek help elsewhere!

My son is there. I have had no problems with the hospital. My son is doing great and is treated well. His bed clothes and regular clothes are always clean. He said the food is good and we luv his counselor and psychiatrist.

I was there myself, the staff is harsh and brutal, they were very rude to you, and never let you have privacy, my room mate was actually very calm and kind, the food options were very harsh, unhealthy foods for every meal, they forced you to eat every last bite even if you were about to throw up

The nurses were absolutely rude, they treated us like animals that didn’t matter to the world. We were kept in rooms huddled up with almost zero outside time. The security and supervision was a joke. They had paitents having relations in bathrooms, but don’t even get me started on the bathroom. You couldn’t see in the plastic covered mirror because they didn’t replace the glass before covering it, it smelt awful and it was a complete mess in the shower. No curtain, the floor was molded and brown and there was one light in the whole dimly lit thing. The beds were rough and it was freezing every night, I was put in a room on the boys hall! Who knows who could’ve barged in!! The food was good, but that’s about it. My counselor was also good but he was new, and young. So I’m sure his ways of working are now messed up by the higher ups. The patient treatment was horrible, and they LET the paitents argue amongst each other in the common room!! I’ve seen and endured verbal assaults from multiple paitents and when I witnessed my friend break down crying because of it I told a nurse and all she did was sit there on her phone or clipboard ignoring it!! Absolute worst institution and only a few people probably cared for the treatment in that place. I went out worse than I did when I went In. Also when I went in I had Four earrings, two of which were real silver. They had been lost or stolen. When I opened The envelope to put them back in I had One FAKE earring left
