This is a wonderful park with wonderful staff. Some of the staff are very knowledgeable about the animals they care for and the different native plant life in the area. It's sad knowing that the magnificent loblolly pine is no longer present next to the building. There are plenty of paths to take and get plenty of exercise. It's a great place to go bird watching.
Awesome time! Very kid friendly with lots to do in nature.
Walter B Jacobs is a nature park. Small, but has a very nice educational center with some live animals, walking trails, small parking area. The nature park is just north of Shreveport on Blanchard, La on Blanchard-Furrh Rd.
I recently went to walk a nature trail and loved it. It was serene and wonderful. There is an exhibit with birds of prey, including a bald eagle. A neat experience.
