Its a great place for walking around with your family and friends. Or just your dog.
At first glance, the park isn't much, but I'll say: my dogs have never been happier. The shy dog area is also a great option for those that want a place to roam but aren't super social yet. The hills and pond are perfect for entertaining any pup. It's pretty popular, so it's a great socialization tool. You have to bring your own poop bags, so know that in advance. Also probably towels if you have a potential swimmer. There is a rinse station available.
This is a great thing for our city and the dogs! My pup loves going here and all other dogs we have encountered have been well behaved and friendly. It also has a shy dog area for dogs who might not be S comfortable around other dogs. Overall great park!
Our dogs love it, and so do we. It's not for all dogs. Large dogs come here and I have seen some rough play between dogs. The park really needs to devide by weight. But our girls are 25 and 29 pounds. 7 and 8 years old, but very social. We take it slowly, and keep eye on them. They really stay out of all the running (packs). They enjoy it the most, out of all the park we go to. But honestly it is not for everyone.
We brought our Labrador and she had a ton of fun. Good facilities that provide poop bags and a wash rack for the dogs. There is even a pond for the dogs to swim in. As with many dog parks there are certain areas that are run down to where there's no grass and in Shreveport all the dirt is Clay mud which is red. The water in the pond as red as well. But it's completely safe in the dogs have fun. Just don't expect them to stay squeaky clean. Everybody else there was very nice and all the dogs are very sweet. There's also another enclosure specifically for shy dogs which I think is awesome.
