In the last year, our daughter has learned to read, tie her shoes, identify advanced geometric shapes, count beyond 100, do simple math, and fell in love with geography. All the while learning good Christian values and teamwork.
Caveat emptor
Her offense? She expressed to management her concerns that students were not getting the full Montessori experience because some of the teachers were not Montessori certified and were not using Montessori principles.
Ms. Thompson and Ms. Smith have made us feel at home. Our only problem is that they don't go past age six! We wish our kids could go there forever!
When we were looking for a school for our 4 year old daughter, we wanted a loving, Christian environment that also pushed her to excel academically. We had gone the traditional pre-K3 route and were so disappointed that her "teacher" couldn't handle kids who were ahead or behind the curve. We found University Montessori by recommendation of our pediatrician. We could not be more pleased!
It may be that this concern has been addressed and that all teachers for the 2012 - 2014 school year are Montessori certified. Guardians of prospective students may want to verify that before enrolling their loved ones.
Wonderful loving learning experience - up until three days before the 2012 - 2013 school year ended. On that day a teacher who had been at the school since its very beginning was told that she was no longer welcome on the campus.
