I love museums! The exhibits were really well done and it was a worthwhile stop on our educational travels.
The Louisiana state exhibit museum is fantastic. The dioramas and Exhibits are intricate and very interesting. The museum displays items dating back historically to the founding of our country, and continuing in a linear fashion to the present day. There is also a lot of agricultural history and detailed displays showing methods of Mining and farming, Etc used over the last hundred years. We went through the museum in a very leisurely fashion and it took us two and a half hours.
This museum has excellent displays on the history of this state. A great mix of science and history is prevalent. The displays are very stimulating and have a lot of knowledge and insights to offer.
Very neat displays and courtyard
I love old art deco buildings. This is a wonderful example of the period. The building is circular and this is charming as one wanders through the exhibits. I found the GPS is a bit confused to find the place, and seems to take you to the back fence. Don't be alarmed. just move around to the front and enjoy. The museum is free. It has so much about Louisiana it could take a short novel to cover what is in the building. the mini dioramas were particularly well done and the information very informative. Take a couple hours to tour. It was a wonderful break from the hot muggy weather on the day I visited. This is a nice stop for sure.
