We had to pay $2300.00 just to open and close the grave. That cost more than the 2 plots alone. You buy the plots and they can charge you anything they want. They have you over a barrel!!! They take advantage of those that have just lost a loved one. If I had known beforehand I would have sold the plots and gone elsewhere. This is a rip off and fraud!!!

Trying to get some paperwork & documentation for some spaces in the cemetery is like pulling teeth with the management. Every time I speak with someone, the previous person I spoke with is no longer there. And don't EVEN count on being able to call up and get the info on the same day - be prepared to wait a week. I'd rather be thrown out into the bar ditch than be buried there and have these people watching over me...
We were required to pay for everything up front when I contacted them on August 5, 2017 just after my Mother passed away on Aug.4th. There were all sorts of variables in cost, such as what time of the day the burial was to take place... Before such-and-such time it was one price, but if after such-and-such time it would cost more... Then, once we paid, our guy called back and said he had forgotten to add taxes, so we had to pay more. The fellow who was 'assisting' us was MR.Parker Ward. A pompous, pious little guy who was obviously enjoying his power over a bereaved family. Not pleasant or comforting in the least!! But, we were stuck, my father was laid to rest at Forest Park West more than 25 years ago, and my Mother had purchased enough plots for the entire family to be together there one day. Well, we signed and paid all the money up front as required. She was buried on August 9th, 2017; Today is December 10th, and they have YET to have her date of death etched on the headstone. We have called repeatedly about it since they already have our $275 for inscribing JUST the date of death since the name and date of birth was already in place. First, the excuses were 'the weather;' then that the guy who does it had "a death in his family." Well, SO HAVE WE!!! I've even asked for our money back so that we can hire it done ourselves. NOOO, once you give them the money, it is nonrefundable, according to MR. Parker Ward, and he says that there is a clause taking away your right to sue them for breach of contract when you sign on the dotted line. So, it's now been Four (4) MONTHS since we gave them the money, and I would think MORE than enough time to etch 10 characters on my parent's headstone - Aug. 4, 2017! If you haven't already closed the deal with Forest Park Cemetery, I would advise you to go somewhere else! The experiences we have had with them have been very disappointing and upsetting.
The Cemetery is looking so beautiful this Spring. The grounds crew are doing and excellent job and are very courteous!
